Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is one of the most common causes of chronic liver disease in children worldwide. Gut microbiota and their metabolites may influence NAFLD. Therefore, this study aimed at evaluating gut microbiota dysbiosis in children affected by NAFLD and the age-sex-BMI-matched children controls to identify bacterial composition features that discriminate NAFLD children from control children.
